University and I.T. Fees - No Longer Waived

We no longer are able to waive certain University of Minnesota fees. The Graduate and Professional Student Association Fee and Student Emergency Loan Fund Fee will be charged to students in a program.

In addition, the International Student and Scholar Services will also be charging international students a fee. If students change their status, they should contact that office at 612-626-7100.

University Fee

The University fee helps cover support costs in a wide variety of areas. It is not dedicated to one particular need or to one particular office. This fee is assessed to all students and will be prorated as follows:

  • $50 per credit for students taking 1-9 credits;
  • $500 for students taking 10 credits or more.

Undergraduates (including reciprocity students) who are classified as full time by their college are required to pay the full University fee regardless of their credit load. Students must appeal to their college for an exception to full-time classification.
