Streaming Video and Podcasts

UNITE offers live and asynchronous access to course lectures for a variety of courses.

Live Access: Streaming Video

For live lectures, UNITE "streams" video to your computer (proper, free software and a fast Internet connection is required).

Asynchronous Access: Streaming
Video Archives and Video Podcasts

Streaming Video archives also require a fast Internet connection while viewing. Or download Video Podcasts to view on your computer, iPod, PSP, Zune, or other device.  Use our RSS feeds to automate the podcast download schedule.

The streaming video archives and podcasts are typically available about an hour after each course session and are available until the day of the final exam for each course.

View demonstrations, learn about streaming video, podcasts, system requirements and test your Internet connection at our "How UNITE Streaming Video and Podcasts Work" page.

End of an Era: UNITE Television Tower Demolished

The tower UNITE used to relay televised course sessions from the Twin Cities campus to students in Rochester sites was located in Hader, Minnesota.  UNITE continued to transmit via microwave television while adding Internet-based streaming video in the mid-'90s and downloadable podcasts in 2006.

UNITE transmitted our final television transmission to conclude finals week in Fall 2006.  See video of the demolition of the tower Image to indiate a link to a web page outside the UNITE web site, which opens in a new window..
