Streaming Video and Podcasts

UNITE Distributed Learning offers selected science and engineering courses over the Internet using streaming video and podcast technologies.

This program is designed to afford UNITE enrolled distance learners delivery of courses at any time and any place. Students can view course presentations live as streaming videos and contact the instructor live via phone. Access to streaming video archives and podcasts end with the end of the semester.

Class sessions are available live through streaming video webcasts and are also available for asynchronous (archived) viewing as streaming videos and as downloaded podcasts shortly after the end of each course session. An appropriate mix of supplementary web-based tools tailored to each course's needs are utilized to facilitate additional aspects of course delivery (e.g., course syllabus, homework assignment postings, office hours, etc.). Access to streaming video archives and podcasts end with the end of the semester (and you need to delete any downloaded material from the semester, see Policies).

For distance learners, proctored exams are to be taken synchronously with the on-campus offering, but at an appropriate location near your home or work site.

Viewing courses will require the installation of appropriate free client software on your computer. Please see the System Requirements section for information on the minimum specifications needed for viewing and where to obtain the free QuickTime software.
