UNITE Distributed Learning employs University of Minnesota students (minimum enrollment of six credits as an undergraduate) as operators for our live streaming of College of Engineering courses.
UNITE records and streams live video from eight classrooms located in Mechanical Engineering and Keller Halls, typically between the hours of 8 a.m. - 9:45 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m on Fridays during the Fall and Spring semesters.
The UNITE Operator runs the classroom control console to control the video cameras, microphones, projectors and other audio-visual equipment that the instructors utilize in teaching live courses held in a UNITE-enhanced classrooms. The operator also provides and retrieves the instructor's microphone and teaching supplies and cleans the classroom whiteboards as needed. Our classes run on the regular university schedule and can fit between yours. No prior experience is necessary - we will train you!
